Dear Lynda,
I have been given your contact details by Mothers 4 Justice, but unfortunately seem to have been given a wrong mobile number for you. I wonder if you might be able to help me with a long feature article I am trying to write for the Sunday Times magazine about the harsh experiences of women in the family courts. Unfortunately this story is in danger of unravelling at the last hurdle because I have been unable to speak to enough women to hear their personal stories which is what would give my article real impact.
I am particularly keen to speak to mothers who have lost contact or are increasingly losing contact with their children as a result of main residence being granted to their childrens’ father because the women themselves had pursued careers and become the main breadwinner in the family and so the court judged that the father was the childrens’ primary care-giver – even in instances where this was not really the case and in some instances where the father was abusing the children.
I wonder if you would mind passing this message on to any mothers who have had this experience (though not posting it on the internet) and who you feel might be willing to speak with me.
In speaking with women I am quite prepared to change the names of those I mention in my article and change any key details they felt was necessary to protect themselves and their children.
I have been a staff writer with the Sunday Times for more than 20 years and have had a lot of experience of having to do this in stories I have covered abroad over the years – particularly in relation to rape victims. Some of these stories appear on my webpage on the times on-line site at the following link should you want to refer to this.

Once again, thank you for all your help. I do hope to hear back from some women who feel able to talk to me as soon as possible as I am now running up against a deadline on this story.
Kind regards,
Christine

Further to my last message, lynda – I would appreciate it if there was a way of you sending this message to women who you felt might be willing to talk rather than posting it on the internet.

I would love to share our story with Christine Toomey. How do we contact her please. You could just refer her to http://www.no2abuse.com/index.php/articles/comments/yvonnes-story-social-services-tried-to-take-my-granddaughter-a-families-hel/
Our story is there and there are sequels to this. The tabloids have not taken it up, but you have permission to use this Christine.

Hello
I have recently discivered this site and value the material contributed here amidst my own struggle.
I note Christine Toomey’s messages and mention of mfj, although I am not familiar with the whole context of Ms Toomey’s request nor timescales.
I am currently corresponding with another mother in another part of the UK, we both have stories to tell. We are at varying stages caught in the same frustrating system, building our own cases against the tide.
We would very much like to get in touch with Ms Toomey. Can you help?
Yours faithfully

If there is any attempt to take you off air, you might – instead – consider a blog site. When in 2004, my father Ralph Winstanley was killed – deliberately, when he had not been dying Diamorphine, Haloperidol, Midazolam, Oramorph all at the same time + 2 syringe drivers) using the full services of the NHS at Doncaster, fatcat Lawyers,Beechcroft Wansbrough of Leeds, libelled me – to my server, who took my UK site off air.
Fortunately the US sites are far more robust than ours. The blog site which I then set up has not been removed and has been up since 2004/5. Blogger.com. It is also a free and very easy to use, site. I recommend it to protesters.
My father’s site is http://ralphwinstanleyofwath.blogspot.com
I wish you well and will watch with interest.
